We are sorry this isn't a vlog! We all have been so busy and we are going to try and find time to make a cool vlog! This is our last required post for the school year but we all plan to continue this blog! I really hope you have enjoyed it this far and again we are sorry it is not a vlog! Hopefully one will be up really soon!! :) TheresaThis week Inwas really busy with school work and sports, like usual. One night while I was at a boys volleyball game, my friend texted me asking if me and my other friends wanted to come over to hang out! We were all free and really bored so we all drove to her house, we ended up making cake and brownies! They were so good and the experience itself was memorable, we were all messing around and it was so much fun just to let loose one night during he school week! After we made them we obviously had to decorate them! It was a memory I will never forget, we tried to make it nice but it ended up being a complete mess! After we made cake it was around 10:30, so we all thought it would be a great idea to get smoothies from Mcdonald's! I don't know what we were thinking but, looking back I am glad we went, when we got there we ordered 4 strawberry banana smoothies. We paid for them and when we pulled up to the second window to get them the worker told us the smoothie machine was broken! Then the worker asked what we wanted instead, one of my friend thought it would be funny to ask for 7 diet cokes, 1 sprite, and 2 ice cream cones! They actually gave it to us too! I was so funny and we all were dropped off at home afterwards! I will never forget that night and the night itself was an adventure to remember! Friends can be so funny and amazing that they make an adventure out of one hang out! I love my friends because every time we hang out it's an adventure! :) KendallMy other individual adventure is attached to our last post! Go check it out!! :) Emily

With the end of the year nearing, we have all taken things in that have made us all really busy. So, this week rather than do a regular, boring blog post we decided to do another individual vlog! I hope you all enjoy it and another group vlog will be up soon!! :) EmilyMy adventure: College tour and Helping people get ready for prom! This past Saturday, I helped three of my friends get ready easy for prom! Unfortunately we were running a little late, so I didn't get the time to take any vlog footage, but I have pictures! I first went my friend Abby Duffer's house and did her makeup, and helped with her hair. Then I went to Hannah Hubler's house and I helped with her makeup and dress, and then I did her brother's hair! It was a really cool experience and I would totally do it again! This was a very cool adventure because it was my first time have appointments and set times and being more professional about doing people's makeup, which I want to do when I become an adult. I want to be a makeup artist, and them trusting me todo their makeup/hair was a really cool experience to see what I would be signing up for! On Sunday, I went to Wittenberg University college campus and played a volleyball scrimmage, but the cool part and adventure happened afterwards, when the volleyball coach took us on a tour of the campus! It's a division three volleyball team, but they are really good, because they've won a lot in the last few years. This was an amazing adventure because I got to see what my future might be! I got to imagine myself going to school there and spending my future there! It was a beautiful campus which I loved, and the schooling there is really good. This was my first college tour that was for me, not my sisters, and I was really able to embrace the experience. These adventures this past weekend have taught me to look forward to the future, but appreciate the present. I only have two more years left in high school, which when you think about it, isn't much time. I need to focus on what's happening now and truly appreciate it and make it my own, make it something to remember. But I also need to be looking forward to the future, and doing these things this weekend showed me what my future can look like, and I really like it so far. I will update on other college visits/tours and makeup things that I do! Theresa theI tried to get videos for this vlog, but I couldn't sorry!! :(( I hope you still enjoy this post! This last weekend I had my last volleyball tournament of the season, I was sad to see the season fade away so quickly. We have been together almost everyday since November and after this weekend I wouldn't see them again. We all decided to make the most of this last tournament, one last victory. It was so great to play with them and to coached by a Bradley Alum, Sam Barton. Last year I played with her during school volleyball season, and now she coached me! It was so great to see her again and it made the last tournament all the more better. We ended up going to silver and winning it, not how we wanted the season to end but it was alright. The whole weekend ended up being an adventure although I did nothing but play volleyball. I stayed in a hotel Saturday and met up with an old friend staying at the same hotel! I met some of her friends and we played hide and seek in the hotel. I made an adventure in one night, met new friend, and reconnected with an old one. This weekend was truly memorable and I won't forget it. I'm sad to see my season is over because, I've grown so close to my teammates and I'll miss them. It will feel different not seeing them all the time and spender every single weekend with them. Adventures are what we make them, they can be the simplest thing too. I made an adventure in a night and all I did was hang out with others. The picture below is one my mom took of me when i was messing around trying to get pancakes! I can be such a good sometimes. :) KendallMy Adventure: Myrtle Beach!! This past weekend, I took a 3-day vacation to Myrtle Beach. We woke up Thursday morning, packed a couple things in one suitcase (deciding to be minimalistic) and jumped on a plane from the rinkey-dink Rickenbacher airport, and went to South Carolina. I really didn't expect to have much fun. I was excited to be on the beach, but we've taken this trip before, and usually just stay in my uncles house doing nothing. This time was a little bit different. We got to the Myrtle Beach airport to find it was beautiful and a sunny 80°. My uncle picked us up in his tow car from who knows what year, and took us immediately to the beach. There was this little restaurant where you could write on basically every piece of furniture, and it was such a unique food expirience. After that we went mini golfing, and fishing. Already I was having a blast. We had dinner at a crabshack near the water and I was already happy to be out of Ohio. The next day we went down to the beach by the pier. I layed out all day just reading and relaxing. Until my uncle picked me up and threw me in the ocean, and let me tell you, it was not warm water. There were tons of jellyfish and I about had a heart attack. The next day we spent just hanging out at the house, painting Easter eggs and spending time with Jesus, for it was the day before Easter. I helped my relatives cook a big barbecue with things like potato salad, watermelon, baked beans, ribs, steak, mac n cheese, and cheesy potatoes. It was heaven on a plate. I was having a great time with my family just hanging out. Sunday we got back on the plane and headed on home. The small vacation was a bubble of happiness, and quite the adventure. Even though we didn't mountain climb or paddle through rough rapids, we took advantage of being somewhere different, and made our own weekend adventure. So next time you're anywhere but home, try something different, and make your own adventure out of it. My Adventure ..... Part 2!! I am so excited to tell you guys about my adventure at prom! Prom.. every girl dreams of this day right? Well, not so much. I didn't even know I was going to prom until about two weeks before, when a junior asked me at Young Life during club one night (the poster was Star Wars themed... I pretty much lost it) I was so excited until I realized I had so much to do. What would I do with my hair? My makeup? My nails? Do I need to order a flower? Shoes? And, oh yeah, A DRESS?! So immediately I booked appointments for my nails and eyebrows and asked my mom if she would do my hair and makeup and thankfully she said yes. I found my dress about a week before prom in a boutique with 5 days to get it altered. Slowly everything came together and the day of prom came around. About 4 of my other friends were also going to prom but we all were going in different groups, so we decided to get ready together so we could still see each other that day. We had a blast playing music and singing along while getting ready, and when we were done, we took pictures and went off in our separate groups. Pictures were fun (although you know how parents can be) and dinner was amazing, we went to Cap City and I had Romano Crusted Chicken and it was amazing. The dance was gorgeous and we had lots of fun just hanging out with our friends. Overall I'm glad I went to prom even though I'm a sophomore. It was such a great adventure and new experience in the same old high school. So, if you have a prom at your school, I highly encourage you to go!(: This week is our schools spring break! And since some of us are going out of state we are going to do another solo adventure! Sorry that we haven't done a group one in a while but we will very soon! I hope you enjoy our spring break adventures because I know we sure had fun on them! Feel free to comment on this post what you did for spring break or what you're going to do for spring break! KendallTheresaI am so excited to tell you about this vlog! Spring break is a time to have some fun and let go of the stress of school. This last week was my schools spring break, and this year we went to Georgia to visit a few family friends. Saturday morning we made our way down to Dallas, Georgia to visit my best friend Emma. She moved down there the summer between eighth grade and freshman year, and I'm not going to lie I missed her a lot. I was so happy when we finally got to her house, I ran up her driveway and ran right into the house. I tried to scare her but it didn't really work out. Over the course of the four days I was with her, I made so many memories that I can keep with me forever. I met some new people down there and I thought it was really cool that I now have some friends down there. The first night we got there, we really didn't do much. We got there kinds late so we ended up going for a run then talking all night. The next day, Sunday, we went to her church which itself was an experience! It was so different from the one I go to in Ohio. After church we went back to her house and took our dogs for a walk, it was so fun because her friend joined us and he voluntarily took both our dogs while Emma and I strolled along. After the walk we went back to her house and set up a little movie area on her porch swing. We watched a movie while eating a crap ton of food, while eating Lucky Charms and separating the marshmallows from the cereal. Later that night we had a bonfire where we roasted marshmallows and when we ran out of those we threw popcorn kernels into the fire and watched them pop. It was a wild night and I'll definitely remember it. Then Monday came around and Emma had to go to school, so her mom and my family went exploring Georgia. When we got back, Emma was home from school and we hung out and had a mini photo shoot. After our shoot we had a family movie night, we watched a really good movie. Emma and I ended up crying to the point where out mascara started running down our faces. The movie was so good and at the same time really sad. Tuesday we left her house and went down to another family friends house. Tuesday morning we left for our other friends house. Of course we made some pit stops. Janice had been dying to go to these place and I have to admit I was excited as well. We first went to this bubble tea place in Doraville, Georgia. After that we went to a rolled ice cream place. Both these places were so cool and both were so good. That night we arrived at our family friends, Madeline's house. We started the tv series Scream, and they we all hooked (I've already seen the first season). It was fun watching them trying to figure out who the killer was. It wasn't till around 1 am till we went to bed. The next day Madeline asked us if we wanted to go adventuring and I knew it was the perfect opportunity for this vlog! We went to an old railroad track and it was so beautiful, we took some pictures, took some videos, and definitely made memories. After the railroad we went to a dam. It was so beautiful, we got to walk on the rocks that led us to a bridge where we carved our names into a pillar. It was so much fun and Janice fell into the water, granted it was my fault. When we finished jumping rocks we went on a hike to the top of the dam, it took forever! Madeline and I took a pit stop onto this mini island accessible by a strip of land. It was so adventurous, climbing rocks and exploring an unknown island. The day concluded and we headed back to her house, that night we had a bonfire and watched more episodes of the tv show we started. The next morning we went to another place called, Escape the Space. Here, you are locked into a room and you have to find clues to let you out of the room. For the room we were in you only had an hour to figure it out. At this place, you either win or lose. Sadly we lost and only buy 2 minutes! It was pretty upsetting we were so close and failed. Then we left and got some lunch, after lunch Madeline took us to a graffiti wall. We got some great pictures and the whole essence of the place was great. It was really cool and I absolutely loved it! After that we went back home and watched even more of the tv series. Then Friday rolled around and it was our last day. I admit I was really upset to leave because I know there were plenty of more places to adventure to. But for our final day in Georgia, Madeline took us to the Gainesville Quarry. The drive was long and the hike there was exhausting but it was definitely worth it! The place was so beautiful and was definitely worth all of the time. It was so peaceful and such a sight to see. We stayed there for about an hour till we had to hike back down, which I must say was very dangerous. We all made it out with minor scrapes but it was definitely a little scary. After we left the quarry we went to her schools baseball game! It was fun to see her team play and fun to see an actual baseball game. I have never had the time to go to any and that made me really upset. I brought my camera and helped her take pictures for her yearbook, because she was on the yearbook staff just like me! We ended up getting back to her house around 10 pm, then we finally finished season one of Scream, and of course we started season two. We stayed up till about 2-3 am till we decided to conclude the night. Then that Saturday we left and made our way back to Ohio. I hope you all enjoyed the story of my spring break! I know I had a lot of fun this past week and I definitely went on many adventures, if you want to see any of the pictures I took check out the "photo gallery" tab!! EmilySo for my spring break, I stayed in Hilliard mostly, and didn't really do much. I spent my time working on my piñata project for Spanish, and that took up about 12 hours of one day, sitting cross legged in my room all day. I went to the mall with my mom, and we had a lot of fun! And my dad met up with us later and the three of us went to the Cheesecake Factory and had dinner. Then the next day we left for Indianapolis, Indiana for a volleyball tournament! My spring break was full of me just working hard and doing the things that I needed to get done. The adventure for me thus spring break was, in reality, the lack thereof. The fact that the whole week I was inside and doing things that I had to work on or finish or get done was crazy for me. Usually I make it a priority to do something fun or different every day, but this whole week I have done nothing crazy or different. This spring break I learned to appreciate the time that I have to do fun things and try new stuff. Sometimes you have to take a lot of time to get your work done and take care of your business, and that leaves no time for the funly different things that you want to do. It's time like those when you have to take a step back and really appreciate when you are able to do those activities that make your day brighter and life more interesting, because you don't and won't always be able to do that stuff. When you're older, you won't be able to move the same way you can now, so go out and exercise and do something you never thought that you could do. This week also showed me that sometimes, you just have to set aside the thingstnat you want, and do what you need to do. So now I encourage any readers to get off your phone or iPad or laptop and go get something done that you need to do! :) Recently we have all been busy with school and sports, so we couldn't find time to go on an adventure together. We decided to try sometching new, individual adventures! Don't worry this is not another blog post, we actually made a vlog! Though this time we all made separate vlogs about an adventure we have had in the past two weeks. I hope you enjoy this post and please comment, or contact us, if you like this idea and we'll throw a couple of these in every once and a while! :) EmilyI originally had planned to put up a blog, but sadly I was unable to record my adventure so I will not be posting video of it! But my adventure this past weekend was that I was acting in the Hilliard Bradley Student Written and Directed One Acts. The One Acts are a tradition of Bradley Theater where we pick 4-5 short plays to perform. The twist this year wa that they were all written by students! I was acting in one called "Flowers" by a student named Emily Henderson. The story is about my character named Laura, and she is visiting her friends grave for the last time. While she is there, she is saying goodbye to her past boyfriend/friend Oliver, who was played by my friend Cayden Ferguson, who committed suicide and is trying to convince herself that it was not her fault. In theory, Oliver is just a memory and an image in Laura's head, and the conversation and arguments that she has with him in the play are the arguments that she faces in her own mind. This One Acts performance was an adventure for me because I haven't been able to participate in a high school production, and the last performance that I had done was in eighth grade. I missed acting very much, and I am very grateful that I was able to partake in this amazing story with a heavy message. And a big thank you to anyone that came out and watched it! But I had a really big and relavent takeaway from this adventure, and it's that you should always do what makes you happy, no matter what. If people aren't going to support your happiness, then they should not be in your life. Surround yourself with people that make you happy and support your actions that (are safe) and make you happy. TheresaBack in sixth grade I had the opportunity to be in the play, we preformed Cinderella. It was am amazing experience for me, being around a different atmosphere. Everyone was so nice and they were a great group to be around. This past week, I went to see our middle school production of, The Lion King. This is my absolute favorite Disney movie and seeing it come to life was undeniably the best thing. The play turned out amazing and you could tell all the hard work that was put into the play. After the play was over my friend, Jessie, and I went to a new ice cream shop called, Diamonds! It was really good to try something new and it was definitely worth it. All the ice cream was homemade and I thought it showed by the way it tasted! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something new! Then after a night out, we decided to go back to her house and have some fun. When we got back to her house she did my make up and we dressed up and had a mini photo shoot. Thanks to a class I've taken this year, yearbook, I have gotten pretty good at taking pictures! It was so much fun and we got to let loose for the first time in a long time. When the photo shoot concluded we went back downstairs and "exercised" a little bit, well we did a High School Musical dance mat then played Just Dance 4. The night slowly came to an end and we ended up watching a TV show and went to bed. It was such a fun night and it reminded me that I can't let the stress of school get to me, I need to learn to have fun and let loose sometimes! So, adventure is everywhere, it doesn't have to cost your money or anything. IT could just be a night out doing something fun and goofy! KendallWe're really sorry this isn't a vlog :( even though we had a four day weekend we've all been really busy! We have decided to due a vlog every other post! so hopefully next time we will get another adventure in!! For now, we decided to do another blog about a particular question. We believe it's truly important to not change and lose yourself in this adventure that is the blog itself, but it's also important to let lose sometimes. Each of us will explain how we have changed, if we have at all. Hope you all enjoy! We are truly sorry that we didn't do another vlog this time :( TheresaAll though we have not been doing this blog for a long time I can already tell that we are changing, the three of us are growing closer as friends and I am really glad for it! We are letting lose with each other and having fun so that we all make memories that we'll remember forever. Personally, I can say that these adventures are changing me for the better! I have gained more confidence and learned to let go of the stress of school for a while so that I can have fun with amazing friends! I am constantly worried about school and extra curricular actives in and outside of school, while continously thinking about college even though I'm a sophomore and still have time. There has been constant pressure in my life and it continues to pile on and some days I feel overwhelmed, but thanks to this blog and my friends I've let myself live in the moment and enjoy the little things in life! EmilyI believe that adventure has changed me, in way that are hard to put into words. I have had many adventures in my life, ones that we have done on the blog, ones that I've done in the past, and ones that happen on a day-to-day basis. I am a firm believer that adventure and trying new things can give you memories that last forvever, and make your life more interesting! We as people typically get caught up doing the same thing everyday, and every time you change up something in your life, I believe that it is always fun, entertaining, and a new memory to tell your kids when you get older.
I believe that your adventures can shape you into the person you want to be. Being crazy and doing things you've never done before can change you, as it has done for me. Adventure has definitely changed me for the better. It has shaped me into the person that I am today. The adventure of me going to church camp has turned me into the person of faith that I am today. The adventure of going to a volleyball camp has turned me into the passionate volleyball player that I am today. The adventure to try out singing and drama and acting has turned me into the theater and musical member that I am today. And the adventures that we have done here on the blog have turned me into the fun, layer back friend to the two amazing people that I am doing this with. So yes, I believe strongly that adventure has changed me, and for the better. The word adventure can have a lot of different meanings and definitions for a lot of different people. For example, of one person an adventure could be skydiving off of a cliff into roaring waters, while for someone else an adventure could simply be going out in public and saying hello to a few more people than normal. Adventure has a different meaning to everyone, and here is what it means to us. EmilyAdventure to me may mean something completely different than what others may think of when they think 'adventure'. To me, when I am sled the question "what does Adventure mean to you?", my mind goes in so many different places. To me, adventure means doing something that is different for you and out of your comfort zone. Take a chance, do something that in your mind is crazy, and do something that makes you glad you did it afterward. An adventure doesn't have to be doing something daring, or life threatening, or just flat out insane, it can be a simple "hello" to the person you see in the hall who never looks up, or sitting with someone new at lunch, or even taking a different route to your next class or your work. I feel like everyone in this world and generation gets stuck in a pattern, and gets trapped in a whirlpool of repetition. We sit with the same people, we talk to the same people, we walk the same route, we talk about the same things all days everyday. An adventure is doing something that is not normal for you. Do something different. KendallWhen our lives are filled with routine days at school, loads of homework, and stressful days filled of expectation, it's extremely important to have adventures. What adventure means to me isn't just doing something crazy or fun, but it's about reminding yourself what joy is and to help find yourself and your life's purpose. When I go adventuring I can forget about all the stress of life back home and be genuinely happy. I especially like outdoor activities such as hiking or kayaking, it really helps me get in touch with nature and appreciate the world as it is. Adventures can not only make you happy, but others too. Small things such as volunteering or simply helping another person can be a new adventure for you that makes someone else feel really special. So next time you think about adventuring, try something that can benefit more than just yourself. Rather it be the world, or someone in need, as long as it makes a difference in your heart, it's an adventure in a new way. TheresaAdventure, an exciting or unusual experience. That is just one definition for the word, there are plenty more out there. Personally in my opinion, the word 'adventure' means trying something new, something different that gives you your own little thrill. This doesn't mean you have to do something grand to have an adventure, you could do anything that gets you excited. To me adventure means exploring, trying something new and maybe a little crazy. By stepping out of your shell or comfort zone you've already started your own little adventure. Being adventuress doesn't mean you have to be a daredevil. Start out small and as you go on try something bigger, it'll all be an experience by the end. It could be something that changes you for the better and something that makes you think, "Why didn't I do this earlier?" One day the adventures you've taken could pay off, maybe you will meet your new best friend or even the love of your life (it's cheesy I know). Anything can happen so go out and explore! Go on adventures and seek your own happiness, adventures are just trying things outside your comfort zone! This I know, we can do that everyday. Try to make everyday an adventure, you'll be happy in the end! Tell us what adventure means to you! Comment on our post! Contact us! :)
Our group decided that for our second adventure, we would take a trip to petland and play with all of the animals! We all love animals, and we thought that taking time out of the day to go and play with some of our favorites would be an adventure. Here are our takeaways and the video, we hope you enjoy! :)
EMILY'S TAKEAWAY: I'm so excited to get this vlog up! We haven't done one in a while, so I was super excited to go out and film one at petland! I love animals, especially dogs, so I was extremely happy when we decided to go and play with dogs and birds and animals. Playing with a dog is in my opinion the best medicine for a bad day. I have two dogs at home and I always go to them to cheer me up. My takeaway from this trip was to appreciate the little things in life. Whether it's cuddling up with a dog, chilling out with your bird, playing with your fish, or even just taking a nap. Doing something that makes you happy is the most important thing in anybody's life. Everything that you do should be making you happy, and unhappy things and people are unhealthy in a happy lifestyle. But in this particular trip, I wasn't having the best day, and going to play with these dogs made me so happy and I went to bed with a smile on my face, which to me is the most important thing in life. THERESA'S TAKEAWAY: I'm sorry we haven't posted a vlog in a while but, here it is our second adventure! We all have been really busy and it has been hard to find time to make a vlog. Then we all found a time to make one and we decided to do one that was free and one you all could do when you're looking for something to do on a gloomy day. When we walked in the store we were instantly in love with the puppies. They were all so cute and some of them were getting adopted which warmed my heart. We played with two dogs, the first one we named Chico and the second we named Riley. We loved playing with them and they were so sweet, all of us wanted to adopted them as soon as we started playing with them. Sadly, there was a two puppy limit so we couldn't play with more. We ended up walking around playing with other animals like, birds and hamsters. It was cool to see all the different animals they had in the store. Overall, Petland was really fun and it was free! I would definitely recommend going there. If you do, I suggest playing with the puppies first! KENDALL'S TAKEAWAY: I knew the minute Petland came up in our Adventure Vlogs group chat we knew our next adventure. Being at petland is an adventure itself, with the abundance of animals ranging from cute little pugs to big bad pythons. My love for animals has been around since I was a little girl so of course I jumped at the option to go to petland. After not being able to find time with all of our crazy schedules and bad weather, we were so excited when we found a day that worked for us! Playing with puppies we named Chico and Riley made the gloomy weather seem like a bright summers day. Just being with my friends and playing with little creatures was such an adventure, even if we were just inside of a store. Being there made me realize just how great Emily and Theresa can be, and pairing them with puppies and birds, it really can't get much better. Always know that the best adventures are the ones spent with the people (and puppies) that will always bring a smile to your face. Petland is definitely a great place to have an adventure, so if you have any free time, go check it out!! Also, check back in 2 weeks for our next vlog! Thanks for reading and watching(:! Theresa's Adventure in the Near FutureHey guys! I'm sorry that we haven't posted a vlog in a while, and sadly this is another blog post. I promise we will put another vlog up real soon. Sorry again, but now here is my near future adventure. One day while we were staying after school, waiting for our volleyball game to start, Emily, Kendall, and I were brainstorming ideas for this blog we had to do for English. Suddenly, we came up with the idea that we should do an adventure blog and it could be one everyone could go out and do because it costs little to no money! This was how this blog came to be, and so we began planning the adventures we wanted to go on and one adventure popped in my head. The adventure I want to do one day with the adventure vlog crew in the near future is that we all go to Halloweekends together and vlog it. Halloweekend us something that takes place in Ceder Point, in Sandusky, Ohio. It happens around the time of Halloween obviously, because of the "hallo" in Halloweekend. At night you can go around the amusement park and ride the rides and there are creatures walking around trying to scare you. Also this year there are things called Skeleton Keys that give you access to exclusive mazes, that are more creepy than normal. But during this event there are regular mazes that do not require having a Skeleton Key. In short, Halloweekend is a time during the Halloween season where people can go to have fun and get a good scare. The reason I want to go to Halloweekend with Emily and Kendall is because, we all like haunted houses and roller coasters. This is the chance that we can have that all. If we went then the weekend would be filled with great adventure, major scaring, and gives us a chance to band even more. I really hope we will go one day because, the last time I went I ended up having a great time and made many memories. Also, everyone always says high school flies by so make memories while you can, because in a blink of an eye you will be standing at graduation getting your diploma. This blog has taught me that sometimes you have to live in the moment and do something crazy, so make memories when you can with who you can or you'll regret it one day. Halloweekend would be a great for the three of us because we all like adventure and we all wanted to go on adventures, or else we wouldn't have started this blog. One day soon I hope we all go to Halloweekend. -- Theresa Emily's Adventure in the Near Future...As Theresa said, I'm sorry that we haven't made another vlog, and that we are writing another blog post. A new vlog will be up soon! Anyway, an upcoming adventure that I am looking forward to is one that I have been thinking about a lot recently, and hoping that we will be able to do it. I would like for our group to be able to go somewhere out of state, spend the night in a hotel, and visit somewhere we have never been. I was hoping that we could of to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, and spent the night and spend the day walking around the town, the boardwalk, and the beach. When our class went to Washington D.C. in eighth grade, I went with some of my best friends. We all got very close and bonded a lot during this trip, and made many memories and had so much fun. I love going on overnight trips with my friends, because when you stay up late and get in that state of being tired and not being tired at all at the same time, you have conversations that you will remember forever and you learn things about others and the reasons they are who they are. I love learning more about people and building true friendships that I know I can count on and will last a long time. If we did take this trip to Myrtle Beach, I feel like we would have a lot of fun. I've never had that kind of experience, and I think that this group would be a lot of fun to go with. We all have a lot of fun together and get along well. I am looking forward to this and I want it to happen because it seems like it would be a lot of fun and we would make a lot of memories. And I know that we wouldn't be afraid to try new things, or do things that might scare us or something we don't always do because we are all looking for adventure and new paths to take in life, or we wouldn't have started this blog/vlog. --Emily With the love of adventure flowing through me, I have had many great experiences creating my own. I've been to many exotic places such as Mazatlan, Jose del Cabo, Saskatchewan, and more, but my favorite adventure was one I took in the Cayman Islands. We were shopping downtown in Cayman and saw a sign for swimming with stringray. I immediately shut the idea down and laughed at the sign. Of course my dad (who would jump off a plane with no parachute if given the chance) made us stop and look at the little pamphlet. I saw the way his eyes lit up like a little kid and knew that I would be jumping in the middle of the ocean that very same day. After a long time of boring conversation and financial related topics, my dad came back with the time and place of this dreadfully risky experience. Of course, being the type of person who needs to know everything and anything about the thing I'm doing, I went online and did some research. It was probably a terrible idea to read dozens of articles on stingray related deaths. I soon attained the mindset that I was going to die. Woohoo! Eventually it was time to go on the tour. There was a boat basin on gorgeous luxury yachts and fishing boat. There was one little dinky run down boat amongst the gorgeous beasts. I bet you can guess which boat we had the pleasure of going out to sea on. If not, spoiler alert! It was the dinky one. Seeing this boat instantly made me type my will into my phone, and I'm not kidding. I thought, "well at least I'll die in the carribean!" And got onto the boat. After awhile my nerves calmed, and I started noticing the scenery around me. It was nothing I'd ever seen before. It was like the world was painted blues, clashing between sky and sea. There were dolphins chasing us, their tails glistening with salt. It was beautiful. I never wanted to leave. My dream was soon over. The waves became angry as we approached the sandbar they called "stingray city". There was a cruise ship that was puking out people, and it was completely chaotic. We stopped the boat and anchored it, literally in the middle of the ocean with 5 foot waves. We putting on crappy scuba gear and jumped out the boat. This is where I panicked again. It took about ten minutes to swim less than 50 yards due to the current. By the time I was on the sandbar I was tired and annoyed. After I calmed myself down, I took a look around. There were stingray everywhere, and I was mesmerized. They were beautiful. Their grey backs sliding against the surface of the sea. People were holding them and feeding them little squids from their hands. I soon realized that my fear was absurd, I was swimming with these creatures who weren't doing anything but enjoying human company. We spent the hour swimming and snorkeling and having the time of our lives. I didn't even think about my possible death or all those stories I read about. It was the adventure of a lifetime. I'd do anything to go back now that I look back on this experience I realized that it was one of the best risks I've ever taken. I was scared but did it anyway because your life is so fragile and can be taken away in a second, so why not live it to the fullest. I hope you enjoyed my adventure enough to make you go out on your own and do the same. Don't be afraid to take risks. They can make the best memories. --Kendall Emily's Favorite AdventureI have never been outside of my country, and I plan on going to Austrailia at some point in my life. But as of right now, I don't have very many adventures. Some of my favorite adventures that I do have though, have happened at my favorite place on earth: Kirkmont Center in Zainsville, Ohio. This is where my sisters and I went to church camp. My absolute favorite adventure from there is when I was able to go to a labyrinth walk at night. We went to worship first that night, and talked about Jesus and our faith and why we follow him. We sang songs and danced, and had so much fun. After our worship, we ate a snack with our friends and hung out. Next, we went to bible study with a leader named Mary Jane. We talked for a long time about the things that we could do for Jesus. This was all very new to me because I don't go to church much. This bible study was very different, and I originally thought it would be boring, but it turned out to be very interesting. After our bible study, it was time for the labyrinth walk. We all stood in a single file line and walked through the woods in silence. We held hands with each other for support, since it was so dark and nobody could see anything. Then we came to a clearing, where the labyrinth lay waiting for us, lit by candles along the path. We stood in a circle around it, and silently prayed to ourselves. Then we followed each other into the labyrinth, and remained silent. We had previously talked about what people typically think about or do during labyrinth walks, and it was said that people pray, give thanks, and ask for forgiveness. For me, I thought that I would do the same. But as I stated walking along the path, my mind was wondering to things I had never imagined I would think about during this time, but I was glad that I did. I thought about my parents, my family and friends, my pets, all the random things I loved about my life. It was very serene and peaceful. When we reached the middle of the labyrinth, some of us stayed there for a long time, praying together. Others stayed for a little bit, and then continued out the way we came. I stayed for a long time, just thinking about my life now, my past, and my future. And standing there, with my sister on one side, and my best friends on the other, I realized that this is a place that I want to remember and be forever. And that is why this is my favorite adventure. I had never done or experienced anything like that before, and I don't think I will again. It was a very special moment that I will never forget. Theresa's Favorite AdventureThroughout my life I have been the one who craves adventure. I have gone to many the places throughout my life, like Vietnam, Australia, Canada, Chicago, Texas, and many other places in and outside the United States. Although, my favorite adventure by far has been my recent trip to Ocean City, Maryland this past summer. I was lucky enough to be able to go with my best friend, Samm. Even though the trip started off bad, it ended up being one of the best experiences of my life. We started off the trip leaving my house at 3 in the morning. After the whole day in the car we ended up in Washington D.C. for the night. When we arrived at the hotel we were amazed, it was so cool! Right after we checked in we went to the pool right away. After an hour of swimming we went out and got to go out to shop and eat. We went to the pentagon mall and it was amazing. The night progressed and time passed, finally it was time to go back to the hotel. When we returned, we made the rational decision to stay up all night. We stayed in the lobby till 4 am and decided it was time to go to bed, our desire to stay up all night was overturned by out spdesire for sleep.
The next morning we woke up, and packed and headed down to Ocean City, Maryland. After a 4 hour drive, we had finally arrived. As soon as we got to the hotel we unpacked our things and went to the beach. While at the beach my mother and brother wandered off to find her friend from Germany! After a while, they had found Samm and I at the beach. We met up with my mother and she caught up with her friend in a small café nearby. Now we were on vacation with another family, my moms friend, her husband, and her son. Michael, was her son and he was around my age. After a quick meal we went back to Michael's hotel and there was a volleyball net nearby, so we decided to go play! After 10 minutes a group of people came over and asked if they could play with us, then we all played together for a while. When we got tired we went back to our own hotel and got ready to out to dinner with Michael's family, and after we would go to the amusement park on the pier. Dinner was amazing and now it was time for the pier! We had two hours before the park closed so we rushed to get the most done in our limited time. After a fun night filled with rides and ice cream, we went back to our hotel. Days past and we enjoyed our time, on the beach and made a new friend of Germany! Sadly, it was time to leave our wonderful vacation and get back to reality. Many memories were made, and I will never forget them. Like when, Michael and I were walking on the pier and there was a karaoke stand, he went over and began singing in German. Another memory is when my mother gave me money to go out with Samm, in the local restaurant. We had a little "date" and we ended up bonding even more and becoming even closer then we already were. Although our car ride home was long, it helped us remember our past week in Ocean City. To this day I still talk to Michael, and one day after senior year, my family, Samm, and I plan to go to Germany and stay with Michael and his family. --Theresa One of my favorite adventure stories would have to be Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Obviously, we know that this isn't real, and it takes place in a different galaxy a really long time ago, but that doesn't make the excitement of it any less real. In this novel, and movie, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo face attack by the imperial forces and it's AT-AT walkers on the ice planet of Hoth. While Leia and Han escape in their ship the Millenium Falcon, Luke travels to Dagobah in search of Jedi master Yoda. Only with the Jedi master's help will Luke survive when the dark side of the force beckons him into the ultimate duel with Darth Vader. During this installment, Luke travels to Dagobah. This planet is mainly jungle and swamps. Luke goes through intense training such as learning skills as a Jedi with his light saber and making his powers stronger. My ultimate adventure would definitely be training to be a Jedi. Like Luke, I would love being trained in a swampy marsh of a planet, focusing on wisdom and skill. Throughout this movie and all others, Luke comes face to face with death in almost every scene, and constantly has action in his life. This is my favorite adventure in many ways. He gets to see many planets, aliens, and experience. I hope in the future I can travel the world (even if it is only one world) and create some of the exhilarating adventures Luke Skywalker experienced. -Kendall Theresa's Adventure GoalsIt is now 2017 and teenagers like myself live in a day and age where people are addicted to their phones. Few people take the time and truly live their lives. They all are constantly worrying about how many followers they have or how many likes they get on a picture. We as students in high school already spend hours of our day at school, then we come home do what needs to be done and finally when that's complete we waste the night on our phones. Every start of the new year there is a saying, "New year, new me." This year I am truly mean it. This year I plan on setting aside my phone and living the adventures that are presented to me. This blog has made me realize that I have amazing friends and that I have never truly explored Ohio. I haven't made memories that will last a life time, and I want that in my life. First I'll explore Ohio, then the United States, and finally the world. As we go further into this blog I hope my life will be filled with new memories. My adventure goal is to travel to every country in the world, along with every state in the United States. I want memories worth a lifetime, ones I can tell my future family. Someday I can gladly say that I have traveled everywhere and will have the pictures and stories to prove it. The world has many wonderful sights to see, and I intend to see them all. I will start in London then head to Germany, where I'll visit my friend. After Germany I'll make my way to Italy. I'll continue my way across the globe and I hope to travel with my friends. I hope one day when I look back into my life I can easily say that I had a happy life and a lifetime of memories. -Theresa Emily's Adventure GoalsI have a lot of goals for myself in the future, not just the things that we will do in this website. I have many goals for myself that I believe that if I achieve them, it will be an adventure for not only myself, but for the people that I love most in my life. My goal is to find adventure in the smaller things, and work hard to achieve my goals, making an adventure in itself. For example, one goal that I have is to play college volleyball. If I work hard at it, and acvhieve my goals in volleyball, then maybe I could play D1 in college. If I play D1 in college, I could take my parents with me whenever I go play somewhere out of state, and then they would have an adventure with me. Honestly, I would love to not only let myself experience things that are cool and exciting and unexpected, but I would also love to make that happen for others in my life. To make someone else experience something new that they never have before would be amazing and an adventure for me. I love making others feel things that they never have before and make it something special.
I would love to travel the world too, I would love to see new things. It would be such a privilege to be able to see parts of the world that most people dlmt have the opportunity to see. Some people have trouble even getting out of bed some days, and to be able to travel the world would be amazing for me and my loved ones, because they would also be experiencing it through me. I want to see the world through my own eyes, not just a computer or a phone screen. Also appreciating the small things is important, even if I never do travel the world. Experiencing a new feeling that I never have before would be an adventure, or falling in love, falling out of love, finding a four leaf clover, meeting a stray dog and taking it in, having a fish, eating some exotic food or something I've never tried like frog legs, paying it forward by paying for someone's food, learning to drive. All of these things are considered adventures in my book, and I would like to remember that and not forget about the little things. -Emily |
